The guiding force of this work is somewhere between aesthetics and ecology. I believe that the pursuit of beauty in the landscape can and must entail the pursuit of a flourishing ecosystem.

CONTEXT IS EVERYTHING

Everything is site-specific.

INTERDISCIPLINARY

I integrate perspectives from design, arboriculture, horticulture, and urban planning.

START WHERE YOU ARE

We don’t need to start with a tear down, and you don’t have to change everything to do a little better by our ecosystem. We’ll start with where you are and how you use or would like to use your space.

SHADE

I love trees, I love shade, and I aim to support the city’s urban canopy goals. Our city is getting hotter, and the shade of trees is a life-giving force.

MAINTENANCE

Nothing is permanent, and I understand maintenance as a beautiful ongoing practice of becoming. I typically do not aim to keep gardens in a state of stasis; I aim to keep them beautiful and flourishing.
